Virtual Exchange Platforms Instructor Videos

The use of virtual exchange platforms provides students with an invaluable opportunity to connect and collaborate with peers from different countries. Our instructor videos, available below, are designed to offer practical guidance on how to effectively utilize different virtual exchange platforms in your teaching. These videos walk you through the platform features step-by-step, highlighting useful tips and considerations to keep in mind when planning virtual exchange activities. Our aim is to help staff and teachers navigate these platforms and apply them in a way that enhances student learning outcomes and facilitates international exposure.

Zoom

The instructor video aims to equip you with the practical knowledge to effectively utilize Zoom for your virtual exchange projects. The video covers:

  • Creating meetings and assigning students to breakout rooms
  • Fostering intercultural communication and learning objectives during meetings
  • Sharing past experiences in virtual exchanges in Zoom
  • Setting up Zoom meetings, including time zones, link, and passwords
Padlet

The instructor video aims to equip you with the practical knowledge to utilize Padlet in your virtual exchange projects. The video covers:

  • Creating Padlet posts for classrooms, groups, and projects
  • Modeling how students can post text, images, videos, files, and weblinks to the board
  • Introducing the Padlet posts functions, e.g. Map, Canvas, Grid, Stream, Walls,
  • Encouraging students to interact with and comment on other’s posts
