Prof. GianMario Besana

Biography:

GianMario Besana is the Associate Provost for Global Engagement and Online Learning at DePaul University in Chicago, IL, USA.  He led the creation of the Global Learning Experience (GLE) program, DePaul’s signature virtual exchange- COIL initiative, and of the Global Conversations series, another approach to virtual exchange. The GLE program was recognized in 2019 with the POD Innovation award and in 2020 with a NAFSA Senator Paul Simon Spotlight Award for Campus Internationalization. GianMario has facilitated numerous workshops on institutional approaches to virtual exchange globally, and is one of the founders of the International Virtual Exchange Consortium.
